Talk about daring to say it!
In this mornings Rocky Mountain News I read a review of Robert Sutton’s hot new book, The No Asshole Rule. The funny thing though is that, although the book was pictured so its title could be read, every time the title was mentioned in the review each showed up as The No hole Rule: Building a Civilized Workplace and Surviving One That Isn’t.
Whenever I speak the title into my Dragon NaturallySpeaking voice recognition software, it shows up this way: The Know As Whole Rule. When I talked about the book in an e-mail to my husband, my program gave me a warning about sending such naughty content.
Intrigued, I scurried over to Amazon and learned that this book is number seven on their bestseller list. The reviews are wonderful. The book looks fantastic. I can hardly wait to read it.
Next I went on a search and discovered Bob Sutton’s marvelous blog, Work Matters. I’ve added the blog to my blog roll because his purpose is completely aligned with mine. The action he has taken is colorful, emotional and right on even though conventional, politically correct, media objects to his choice of words.
I recommend both his blog and his book as a resource.
